chatsey is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything runs on your device.
All speech recognition, translation, AI processing, and text-to-speech run entirely on your device using on-device machine learning models. No internet connection is required after the initial voice model download during setup.
During initial setup, chatsey downloads an AI voice model from a public open-source repository (sherpa-onnx via GitHub). This is a one-time download. After installation, the voice model runs 100% on your device with no network dependency. We do not log or track this download.
chatsey requests microphone and speech recognition permissions to provide live translation, dictation, and classroom recording features. All audio is processed on-device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted unless you explicitly save a transcript to your device's local storage.
The Scan & Read feature uses your camera to capture document images for on-device text recognition (OCR). Images are processed locally and are never stored or transmitted.
Any files, transcripts, or recordings you save are stored in the app's sandboxed Documents directory on your device. These files are not accessible to other apps and are not backed up to any cloud service by chatsey. Standard iCloud device backup behavior is controlled by your iOS settings.
chatsey does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no data from any user, this applies universally.
chatsey does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or data collection services.
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. Since we collect no data, changes would only reflect new feature disclosures.
